Epicentrum is the largest annual international communication festival in Indonesia, organized by the Faculty of Communication Sciences at Universitas Padjadjaran. This festival has become a prestigious platform that brings together various parties, including academics, professionals, and communication practitioners from around the world. The main goal of Epicentrum is to provide a space for students to hone and develop their potential and creativity in the field of communication, through a series of challenging and inspiring competitions.
The festival consists of six diverse competitions, each focusing on finding solutions to various issues faced by society, both at the national, regional, and global levels. Each competition is designed to encourage students to think critically, innovatively, and to formulate alternative solutions that are applicable, effective, and impactful. The focus of these competitions involves many aspects of communication, ranging from media, public relations, to digital communication that is relevant to the needs of the times.
Epicentrum serves as a platform for the youngsters generation to contribute and fulfill their role as agents of change in addressing various social issues through the perspective of communication.
In 2025, Epicentrum is back to develop your mind and creativity, encouraging greater openness to social issues, especially focusing on diminishing the effects of poverty and fostering prosperity in ASEAN communities. Epicentrum 2025 comes with the tagline "Beyond Poverty, Towards Prosperity." It highlights the role of communication as a tool for empowerment and sustainable change.
More than just a communication festival, Epicentrum 2025 is a platform for youngsters to take meaningful action in addressing multidimensional urban poverty. Through various innovative initiatives developed and implemented by higher education students, this event serves as a manifestation of youngsters contributions toward creating a more equitable and prosperous ASEAN.
Epicentrum 2025 presents the theme "Breaking the Multidimensional Urban Poverty Chain to Empower ASEAN’s Marginalized Communities." As agents of change, young people play a crucial role in addressing various aspects of urban poverty and driving sustainable development across the ASEAN region.
ASEAN recognizes that urban poverty is a multidimensional issue influenced by economic inequality, limited access to education, inadequate healthcare services, and a lack of digital inclusion. Tackling these challenges requires more than just policy interventions, it demands a comprehensive approach that integrates human capacity development, the utilization of innovative technology, and community-based strategies to create sustainable solutions.
This raises an important question: How can we effectively diminish the effects of multidimensional urban poverty to build a more inclusive and prosperous ASEAN?
